Terms of Service & Safety Disclaimer

Effective Date: October 16, 2026. Last Updated: October 25, 2026.

1. Acceptance of Terms & Description of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of https://morsepad.com ("MorsePad"), operated by Mubashir Alam. By using the site you agree to these terms; if you do not agree, please do not use it. MorsePad offers free, browser-based tools to translate text to and from Morse code, play and download Morse audio, flash Morse with a screen or phone light, decode Morse from audio, a microphone or images, and learn Morse with a Koch method trainer. The service is free, requires no account, and may be changed, improved or withdrawn at any time. You agree to use it lawfully and not to interfere with its operation, attempt to break its security, or use it to harass others.

2. Emergency & Life-Safety Non-Reliance Disclaimer (SOS Tools)

MorsePad, including its SOS audio generator, its flashlight signaling tool and the /in-morse-code/sos reference page, is provided strictly for educational, amateur radio training, hobbyist and demonstration purposes. Never rely on a web browser or a mobile screen/torch tool for real-world distress or life-safety signaling: batteries run out, browsers can be suspended, screens lock, and a flashing phone is rarely seen or recognized by rescuers.

In an actual emergency, contact official emergency services immediately — for example 911, 112 or 999, or the relevant maritime or aviation rescue authority — using a phone, radio or approved distress beacon.

3. Photosensitive Epilepsy & Flashing Light Warning

The Morse Code Light tool generates rapid, high-contrast screen flashes and camera LED strobes at speeds from 3 to 25 WPM. Flashing light may trigger seizures or discomfort in people with photosensitive epilepsy or light sensitivity. If you or anyone nearby has a history of seizures or feels dizziness, eye strain, disorientation or any unusual symptom, stop immediately and look away. You activate visual flashing entirely at your own risk.

4. Accuracy of Automated Translations & Audio/Image Decoding

MorsePad's character tables follow ITU-R M.1677-1 (International Morse Code), and we work hard to keep them correct. However, automated microphone, audio-file and image decoding depends on ambient noise, recording quality, lighting, image clarity and hand-keying timing, and can produce mistakes. All translations, audio, decoded text and other outputs are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Please check important results yourself, especially before engraving, printing or tattooing them.

5. Intellectual Property & Permitted Use of Generated Outputs

MorsePad's source code, branding, logo and written guides are copyright © 2026 MorsePad / Mubashir Alam. You may not copy or republish them without permission.

You are free to download and use the outputs you create — WAV audio files, printed charts, PNG images and Morse translations — in personal, classroom, amateur radio, video production, puzzle, jewelry or tattoo projects, without attribution. Morse code itself is a public standard and belongs to no one. Automated scraping, bulk downloading or mirroring of the site is prohibited.

6. Limitation of Liability, Governing Law & Contact

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MorsePad and Mubashir Alam are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or its outputs, including reliance on any translation, decoded message or signal. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the publisher's place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. We may update these terms from time to time; the "Last Updated" date above shows the latest version, and continued use means you accept the changes. Questions?
